Meet Our Team

Chief Executive Officer

Clara María Bravo García

Head of Scientific Advisory Board

Renee A. Reijo Pera, PhD

Renee Reijo-Pera PhD is a world-renowned stem cell reproductive biologist and geneticist who has mainly focused her career on human gametogenesis. One of her earliest discoveries was the importance of the Azoospermia Factor (AZF) region on the Y chromosome and the DAZ genes in particular to human spermatogenesis. Subsequently, her work has furthered our understanding of both male and female human gametogenesis and embryogenesis. This work has led Dr. Reijo Pera to several distinctions including being honored as one of the “Twenty Influential Women Leaders in the US” (Newsweek, 2006) and behind one of the “Top 10 Biomedical Breakthroughs” (Time, 2010).

Chief Medical Officer

Paul Turek, MD, FACS

Paul Turek MD is one of the world’s thought leaders in male reproductive health. Having retired from a position as a Professor with an endowed chair in the Department of Urology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), he is founder and director of The Turek Clinic located in San Francisco and Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Turek is a past President of the American Society of Andrology and the Society of Male Reproduction and Urology. He is the inventor of sperm “mapping”, an advanced alternative to microdissection procedures to find testicular sperm in sterile men. He also led the design and development of the first FDA-approved testicular prosthesis. He is also a founder of AlphaSperm, Inc., one of the first manufacturers of “prenatal” supplements for men that has become popular worldwide.

Chief Developer Officer

Constance M. John, RPh, PhD

As the Chief Development Officer and a Founder, Constance John is overseeing two major ongoing projects. One is aimed at the optimization of the isolation and expansion of the testicular cells that give rise to sperm, the spermatogonial stem cells. The goal of the second project is optimization of the induction of spermatogenesis in vitro using spermatogonial stem cells from normal men. Constance John holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of California, San Francisco, where currently she is a Faculty member of the Department of Laboratory Medicine.

Clinical Research Professional

Erica Godart

As a Clinical Research Professional, Erica Godart specializes in managing single and multicenter studies, optimizing trial operations, and ensuring compliance with FDA, IRB, and GCP regulations. Her expertise spans clinical trial management (Phases I-IV), regulatory submissions, patient recruitment, and financial oversight. Passionate about advancing clinical research, she thrives in cross-functional collaboration, strategic problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making to enhance study success and improve patient outcomes.

Research Scientist

Richard Sun

As a Research Scientist for CellARTs, Richard Sun is focused on the isolation of spermatogonial stems and in vitro spermatogenesis using a variety of techniques for molecular biology and imaging analyses. Richard has a wealth of experience in mammalian cell culture and previously created an in vitro model of a human organ. Richard has a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. His previous experience includes several years performing research at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, San Francisco, and with Olema Oncology.
